Holders for Iris Diaphragms

Holders are available for all iris diaphragms of the previous table to mount them on mounting posts in optical setups. One further model is available for the smallest of the iris diaphragms, one with an extra small diameter to be used in four rod optical construction systems (system diameter 25 mm, biggest diameter 27 mm plus screw heads). The third model is asymmetric and very short for use on a mounting post.

Type 1

Since there are 8 axial thread bores (in 45° angles) in the holder MIF 1.024 (as well as the other sizes) the iris diaphragms resp. its actuator pin can be mounted in different orientations.

Type 2

The holder MIF 2.024 can be mounted in optical mounting systems with 4 axial holding bars (25 mm system opening). The iris diaphragm is held by a cap ring (with an opening for its actuator pin). This cap ring is held by 3 radial screws, one every 90°. The maximum diameter is about 33,5 mm inclusive of the screw heads.
The holder MIF 2.024 too can be used on a mounting post with the help of a radial mounting thread (M4). An additional adapter makes the employ of a normal mounting post (with thread M8) possible. In this type of mounting the iris diaphragm resp. its actuator pin can be oriented in 4 different directions. → MIF 2.0.08

Type 3

The holder MIF 3.024 is shorter than the other models in direction of the optical axis. The iris diaphragm is inserted into the holder with detached actuator pin. Then the actuator pin is refitted into the iris diaphragm through the operation slit of the holder. An adapter is supplied for mounting posts with M8 thread.
